|Mosquito Control, 1960
A mosquito abatement team, carrying tanks of DDT, approaching a Kurdish village in the mountains of northern Iraq in 1960. Spraying of villages in the area was a United Nations project to combat malaria-carrying mosquitoes, which were responsible for the deaths of an estimated 20% of the children born there.
